The project is a connection between two existing buildings in the Húsavík harbour area, creating an internal link between the Fab Lab facilities, the innovation centre, and other functions of Þekkingarnet Þingeyinga (The Knowledge Network). Together, the buildings form a unified facility of approximately 1,000 square metres.

The design envisions the new structure as a modest intervention that respects the character of the original buildings rather than competing with them. At the same time, it creates a shared space that encourages collaboration, informal encounters, and conversation, strengthening the connections between both the buildings and the people who use them.
