Hallgerðargata 19–23 is a mixed-use residential and retail building located in the Laugarnes district of Reykjavík. The project functions as urban stitching, creating a small-scale residential and commercial hub.

The building contains of 52 apartments of various sizes and layouts. Its cascading form steps downward, creating sunny rooftop terraces for upper-floor residents while giving the building a distinctive expression. This design also fosters visual and social connections between residents.

The façade design is based on modular sized window and cladding elements, minimizing production offcuts and reducing construction waste. The selected cladding is anodized aluminum, a recyclable material that was custom-designed to further limit material waste. The anodized finish was developed in a soft brown tone with subtle textural variation that responds to changing light and weather, creating a dynamic and ever-changing façade. Combined with the diverse vegetation on the roofs and terraces, this gives the building a warm and natural appearance.
