Arnar Skarphéðinsson
https://arnarskarp.org/is an architect BA graduate from the Icelandic University of the Arts. He will be finishing his M.arch degree from Sci-Arc in Los Angeles in the fall of 2024. Arnar has worked on student research projects and 3D visualization for Space Iceland, in addition to being part of sap architects where he has along with architectural design and 3D representations done concept work for diverse projects including the Lavaforming project which was premiered and shown during Design March in Reykjavík, in 2022. Arnar believes the architecture profession is failing in it’s attempts to make the world a better place, it is instead justifying an immoral and destructive economic system. But the power of architecture lies in it’s ability to sketch out a future where the problems of modernity have been solved. How will this future look like? How is technology used as a force for good? And what are the building methods of this future? Arnar´s vision is that architecture is the only way to catch a glimpse of this and does so through 3D drawings, animations and video games.
